The Alfa Romeo is 4 percent longer when compared to the Volkswagen Scirocco III 2.0 TDI CR DPF 177HP automatic. The length of the car is significant in respect of driving comfort and room in the boot. The Alfa Romeo Brera Coupe 2.4 JTDM 20v 210HP manual preasumbly will be offering to it's passangers more room for legs. Aditionally the Alfa Romeo Brera Coupe 2.4 JTDM 20v 210HP manual will be better driven but the Volkswagen Scirocco III will be a bit easier for parking because of shorter length.

The Volkswagen features 79 l more capable boot in comparison to the Alfa Romeo Brera. Such a difference is quite significant so it will distinctly is relevant to the comfort of the vehicle’s usage. It is worth to note that the Volkswagen Scirocco III 1.4 TSI 122HP manual has 16 % bigger trunk size than the average in the same class. Bigger boot will be useful during family traveling as well as while everyday driving.

Because the new Scirocco coupé takes most of the good bits of the Golf and wraps them in a flamboyant new body shell that's available in a range of zingy metallics but looks especially good in white, the colour every car-buying guide to appear in the last 15 years told you to avoid in favour of silver if you wanted to escape depreciation disaster. In time, the Scirocco will be available with a number of different engine options; the early 2.0TSI model we tried uses the two-hundred horsepower unit from the Golf GTI, so it has the sort of go and cornering ability you'd expect from something that looks this sporty.

In its current form the Scirocco has the same 198bhp maximum power output as the standard petrol Golf GTI. Performance is almost exactly the same, and fuel economy is slightly better thanks to the Scirocco's superior aerodynamics and lower weight. The Golf is a wonderful car to drive, and you might expect the Scirocco to be at least as good, if not slightly better, but on the basis of this test - a short one, admittedly, to be followed by a more extensive drive in a manual version - it just isn't.

Is the Volkswagen Scirocco just a Golf in drag, or does it represent more than that? Longer, lower, wider and with wider tracks front and rear, the Scirocco is much more entertaining to drive than the Golf, yet it’s still decently practical thanks to the hatchback configuration, complete with folding seats. The interior isn’t really adventurous enough for a car that promises so much, but with ample equipment, excellent ergonomics and superb build quality, this is still one of the easiest coupés to live with on an everyday basis, even if the rear seats aren’t suitable for adults on long journeys. But with a choice of zesty yet efficient engines, it’s easy to see why Scirocco owners are generally such a happy bunch.

This car has a 2 door coupé type body with a front mounted engine driving through the front wheels. The Volkswagen Scirocco R DSG's engine is a turbocharged petrol, 2 litre, double overhead camshaft 4 cylinder with 4 valves per cylinder. This unit has an output of 261 bhp (265 PS/195 kW) of power at 6000 rpm, and maximum torque of 350 N·m (258 lb·ft/35.7 kgm) at 2500-5000 rpm. This power is supplied to the wheels via a 6 speed automatic gearbox. The stated weight at the kerb is 1364 kg. Maximum stated speed is 250 km/h (155 mph), officially quoted fuel consumption is 10.9/6.3/8.0 l/100km urban/extra-urban/combined, and carbon dioxide emissions are 187.0 g/km.

But then that’s exactly how it was with the original Scirocco. The car we’ve got is the 2.0 TSI with 197bhp and a six-speed manual gearbox. You can tick the box for VW’s brill DSG gearbox and choose either a 1.4-litre 158bhp petrol or 2.0-litre 138bhp diesel. I reckon we’re in the model of choice. Volkswagen might be lying and the TSI engine isn’t turbocharged at all because there’s no lag or step in power as the turbo kicks in.

all you morons critisizing it. No car beats German cars. End of story. I don't wanna hear your worthless opinions you people don't know the first thing about cars, but are the first to open you mouth an critisize. I wanna see you beat a german car in quality, engine, perfromance, and handling. with your ricer or american piece of sh*t. better create your own car that will beat a German car. Until then keep your mouth shut.

The Volkwagen Scirocco made it s debut in 1974 as a simple coupe sports car based on the A1 platform shared with the Volkswagen Jetta and the Volkswagen Golf. It was the replacement for the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe. The original Volkswagen Scirocco was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. It s generations were sold up to 1992, and was replaced by the Volkswagen Corrado. There are now plans to bring back the Scirocco name in 2008.

Walter Silva's 2008 version was just so right, it's hard to believe VW has managed to improve on it for this, the fourth iteration of its sexiest Golf-based offering - but it has, with sleeker head and tail lights, a revised front bumper with aerodynamic 'blades' in the outer section, like those on the latest-generation Golf GTI, and integrated indicators, daytime running lights and fog lights.

A heavily re-designed "Mark II" variant went on sale in 1982, although it remained on the A1 platform. One unique feature of the Mark II was the location of the rear spoiler midway up the glass on the rear hatch. A mid-cycle update occurred in 1984, which included minor changes over the 1982 model: removal of the outlined "SCIROCCO" script from the rear hatch (below the spoiler), a redesigned air conditioning compressor, and a different brake master cylinder with in-line proportioning valves and a brake light switch mounted to the pedal instead of on the master cylinder. Half way through the 1984 model year, a new space-saver spare wheel was added, that provided room for a larger fuel tank (with a second "transfer" fuel pump). Leather interior, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, and a manual sunroof were options for all years. Engine power and torque steadily increased over the years. 1982 and 1983 models produced 74 hp (55 kW) and 90 ft·lbf (120 N·m) of torque. The engine code was EN. The 1984 models produced 90 hp (67 kW) and 100 ft·lbf (140 N·m) torque, the engine code was JH. In mid-1986 a 16-valve model with 123 hp (92 kW) and 120 ft·lbf (160 N·m) of torque was released in the United States and Canada, which included a full body skirt, larger rear spoiler, and tear-drop shaped wheel slots, and vinyl on the B-pillar, to distinguish it from Mark II 8-valve models. The 16V engine code was PL.

Automobile sportiness at the Volkswagen Classic stand in Hall 7 at TechnoClassica 2008 in Essen. “Scirocco” is the term for a hot wind from the Sahara blowing towards the Mediterranean coast. From 1974, though, Volkswagen offered its customers much more than just hot air with the Scirocco. Like the ground-breaking Golf concept, the Scirocco brought a breath of fresh air to the Wolfsburg model program. In the early 1970s, Volkswagen opened up to new technical philosophies and finally said goodbye to the monoculture of air-cooled engines. Based on the Golf, which went into production in March 1974, Giorgio Giugiaro designed a smart and sporty hatchback body. With its new sports car, initially available as the 85 bhp Scirocco TS, Volkswagen brought pleasure to the hearts of sporty driving enthusiasts everywhere.
