New nissan qashqai 2010 forum

The 1.6 in the QQ is more economical than the 1.5 in the Juke. Were it not for the £8k difference in price I would have bought a QQ.
I'm sure the Juke engine is fine though.
Yes, I feel that the 1.6, perhaps in two states of tune, will soon be the only engine choice in the QQ and will eventually take over in the Juke as well. It is not particularly important to me but the Juke could do with a diesel 4wd and auto option and IRTM that the 1.6 would be ideal.
It also needs more funky and interesting colours inside and out. Things that add value, surprise and delight owners. Mini know how to do it.

Minis are very expensive for what they are though.

. and they have the looks of a shoe, with a awful dashboard inside

They may well be. But they are desirable and sell despite a premium price. Not wishing that the Juke sells at a premium but to sustain sales it just has to offer more desirable options and accessories than it does currently. That is looking at it from the perspective of a prospective customer in a year's time from now and thinking what they would want from a car that has been on the road for a while.
You cannot but be impressed by the marketing of the Mini.

My MINI Cooper S looks nothing like a shoe. It looks like a MINI. Funny that.
The interior is different. I'll give you that. But not awful. I would hope that a forum about a marmite car would be a little more open to adventurous design.

^Oke, awful is to mutch, it's a very strange Dashboard. better? Oo, btw, I like the dashboard and the interior from the new Beetle. and the car looks great. Wow

I discussed this for the Juke a few weeks ago, I believe in the QQ the 1.6 is something like £3'000 more expensive than the 1.5.

I agree though that for the average person on the street, it does not make sense to offer a 1.5 and 1.6 diesel.

I still feel that long term, once the development cost of the 1.6 is recovered and the cost per unit drops, that they will drop the 1.5 completely in both QQ and Juke.

the plan is to work the 1.6d into the range and drop the 1.5d and 2.0d. then the qashqai is getting a sports model with the mirano 2.2d engine in it . not sure if they will do this on the juke too ?
